Around the table at the Polhamus'

While babysitting for my sister's wonderful (and well behaved) children we somehow got on to the topic of careers and what they wanted to be when they grew up. I knew an interesting conversation would follow and so it did.

"What do you want to be when you grow up Keona?" I asked.
"A missionary." She explained and I wasn't surprised, I'd heard her say that before. She is a smart girl with a huge heart and while she is still young, I know she could do amazing things.

"That's nice." I said. "But promise me you won't go too far away."
"I can't promise that." Her face was so serious, I almost laughed. "I'm going to go wherever God wants me to go. "
"How will you know where he wants you to go?" I asked, knowing she would have an answer.
"He'll give me a burden for that country and I'll know."
I paused, satisfied with her answer and moved on because I noticed the triplets waiting to share what they thought. "What about you Eve?"
"I don't know yet." She responded and continued playing wii.
"I just want to be a Mom." Charity chimed in. I laughed remembering when she was younger and she told me that she wanted to marry the pizza man... so she could get pizza all the time, of course!
"I want to be an artist." Prayer added, which didn't surprise me either. She must have an amazing imagination because she's constantly off in her own world. When the others were drawing pictures of their family, she was drawing fire breathing dragons.

The differences in them amazing me, especially since three of them are identical. Never a dull conversation at the Polhamus household!
